Mr. Schmitz has served as Chairman and CEO of Select Energy Services since 2007. Mr. Schmitz founded Peak Oilfield Services, LLC in 2007, and the company was transformed into Select Energy Services under his leadership. Select Energy Services has experienced significant growth and transformation, both organically and through the strategic acquisitions of oilfield services and technologies. A lifelong entrepreneur, Mr. Schmitz has founded and developed numerous successful businesses in the oil and gas industry including HEP Oil Company, Complete Production Services and Brammer Supply.  more

Eric Mattson

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Experience

Responsible for the company’s finance organization, Mr. Mattson was appointed CFO in November 2008. Prior to the appointment, Mr. Mattson was an investor in Select Energy Services through his affiliation with Juniper Capital, an investment firm focused on oilfield service opportunities. From 1993-1999, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baker Hughes Inc., a leading oil service company. Having joined Baker International, Inc. in 1980, Mr. Mattson served in a number of capacities including Treasurer prior to the merger of Baker International, Inc. and Hughes Tool Co. in 1987 at which time he became Vice President and Treasurer of Baker Hughes, Inc. more
Cody Ortowski

Experience

Mr. Ortowski has been with Select Energy Services since its inception, initially serving as Vice President of Operations and subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Prior to joining Select Energy Services, Mr. Ortowski and his brother Cole founded Impact Energy Services, a water transfer company, which was acquired by Select Energy Services in 2008. Mr. Ortowski’s experience also includes working for more than 14 years for Pumpco Energy Services, a stimulation and cementing company headquartered in Gainesville, Texas. He served as Vice President of Stimulation Services, where he was instrumental in growing Pumpco Energy Services' operations throughout the Barnett Shale of North Texas and expanding into other US markets. more

Experience

Mr. Tilney has spent the majority of his career in investment banking, most recently as a Managing Director and Global Head of the Investment Banking Energy & Power Group at Merrill Lynch & Co., which he joined in 1993.  Previously, he worked at The First Boston Corporation for 10 years in the Energy Group. Mr. Tilney was one of the early principal investors in Select Energy Services in 2007 and is head of Corporate Development for the organization. more
Katherine Ellis

Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Experience

Ms. Ellis joined the Select Energy Services senior management team as Vice President and General Counsel in March 2011. Her experience includes six years as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of NATCO Group, Inc. and six years at Nabors Corporate Service, Inc., last serving as the General Counsel. Ms. Ellis began her legal career at Baker & Botts, LLP, in Houston. more

J. Brady Crouch

Vice President, Human Resources and Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

Experience

With more than 17 years of oil and gas industry experience, Mr. Crouch joined Select Energy Services in January 2011 as Vice President of Health, Safety, Security and Environment. Prior to joining Select Energy Services, Mr. Crouch worked for ConocoPhillips; most recently as the Upstream-Project Development HSE Manager where he supported the development of E&P projects globally. Mr. Crouch previously worked for Baker Hughes Inc. and served in the Corporate HSE department, where he managed HSE for various service offerings globally. Mr. Crouch is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. more

Experience

Mr. Geer joined Select Energy Services in March of 2011 as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to joining Select Energy Services, he served for four years at Weatherford International, most recently as Principal Accounting Officer. For the previous five years, he held various accounting and finance management positions at Halliburton. He began his career with Ernst & Young, where he worked as an auditor for more than nine years. more

Robert Delaney

Mr. Delaney became a member of the Board of Directors in May 2010. Mr. Delaney is a Partner at Crestview Partners where he leads the firm’s energy investing efforts. Prior to joining Crestview, Mr. Delaney was a Partner at Goldman Sachs where he served in a variety of leadership positions including head of the Principal Investment Area in Asia, head of the Principal Investment Area in Japan, head of the Global Leveraged Finance Group and head of the Workout, Advisory and Restructuring Group. He also served as a member of the Investment Committee which oversaw Goldman’s corporate private equity investment funds. Mr. Delaney is also a director of Bell Supply Company, Samson Resources, and Symbion. Mr. Delaney is a Trustee of Hamilton College.

Exterran Holdings, Inc., Director and Board Chairman

Mr. Hall joined our board of directors in January of 2012. Mr. Hall has served as a director of Exterran Holdings, Inc. (“Exterran”) since March 2002 and Chairman of its Board since May 2005. Previously, Mr. Hall was a Managing Director of Credit Suisse Group AG (“Credit Suisse”), a brokerage services and investment banking firm. While at Credit Suisse, Mr. Hall served as Senior Oil Field Services Analyst and Co-head of the Global Energy Group. Mr. Hall joined Credit Suisse in 1987 as a technology analyst. Mr. Hall was a director of Hydril Company, an oil and gas service company specializing in pressure control equipment and premium connections for casing and tubing, from March 2002 until its merger with Tenaris S.A. in May 2007 and was a director of Grant Prideco, Inc., a drill technology and manufacturing company, from November 2007 until its acquisition by National Oilwell Varco, Inc. in April 2008. Mr. Hall was also a director of Hanover Compressor Company from2002 until its merger with Universal Compression Holdings, Inc. in August 2007 and served as Chairman of the Board from May 2005 until the merger. Mr. Hall is currently a director and member of the audit committee of Noble Corporation, a global offshore drilling contractor for the oil and gas industry. Mr. Hall has also been the Chairman of the Board of Theatrics.com LLC., a private entertainment media company and is involved in several non-profit organizations.

John Jackson

Spartan Energy Partners, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Jackson joined our board of directors in January of 2012. Mr. Jackson is currently Chief Executive Officer of Spartan Energy Partners, a privately owned dry bulk storage, gas gathering and treating company. Previously he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Price Gregory Services, Inc., a pipeline-related infrastructure service provider in North America.  Prior to that Mr. Jackson was President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of Hanover Compressor Company (“Hanover”) from October 2004 until August 2007 when Hanover merged with Universal Compression Holdings, Inc. Mr. Jackson joined Hanover in January 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer. After the merger between Hanover and Universal Compression Holdings, Inc., Mr. Jackson was a director of Exterran until April 2010. Mr. Jackson was also Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Duke Energy Field Services, a producer and marketer of natural gas liquids. Prior to joining Duke Energy Field Services, Mr. Jackson served in a variety of treasury, controller and accounting positions at Union Pacific Resources Group, Inc. Mr. Jackson is a director of Seitel, Inc. and of Encore Energy Partners, LP. Mr. Jackson is also a director for nonprofit Prison Entrepreneurship Program.

Adam Klein

Mr. Klein became a member of our board of directors in May of 2010. Mr. Klein joined Crestview Partners in 2007 and has been involved with Select LLC since Crestview began its relationship with Select LLC in 2010. Prior to Crestview Partners, Mr. Klein worked as an investment professional at Centennial Ventures, Inc., where he invested in early- to mid-stage companies across multiple industries. Before Centennial Ventures Inc., Mr. Klein worked in Mergers and Acquisitions group at Compass Partners, advising corporations and private equity firms on a wide range of transactions. Previously, Mr. Klein worked as an analyst in the Media & Telecom group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. and then Credit Suisse.

Doug Wall

Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc., President and CEO

Mr. Wall joined our board of directors in January of 2012. Mr. Wall has also been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. since October 2007, after joining the company as Chief Operating Officer in April 2007. He joined Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. after a sixteen-year career with Baker Hughes, Inc., most recently as Group President, Completions & Production. In that role he was responsible for the operations of Baker Oil Tools, Inc. Baker Petrolite Corporation, and Centrilift, Inc., as well as the company’s production optimization efforts.

From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Wall was President of Baker Oil Tools, Inc., and from 1997 to 2003, he was President of Hughes Christensen Company. Previously, he was President and CEO of Western Rock Bit Company Ltd., then Hughes Tool Company’s distributor in Canada. Over a twenty year period, Mr. Wall helped a variety of senior executive positions with oilfield service companies in Canada. He began his career in the drilling industry in 1978 with ATCO Drilling (then known as Thomson Drilling) and later spent ten years with Adeco Drilling & Engineering Company Ltd., an affiliate of Parker Drilling Company.

James Browning

KPMG LLP, Former Partner

Mr. Browning joined our board of directors in January of 2012.  Mr. Browning served as a partner at KPMG LLP, an international accounting firm, from July 1980 to his retirement in September 2009. Mr. Browning began his career at KPMG LLP in 1971, becoming a partner in 1980. Mr. Browning most recently served as KPMG’s Southwest Area Professional Practice Partner in Houston. Mr. Browning has also served as an SEC Reviewing Partner and as Partner in Charge of KPMG LLP’s New Orleans audit practice. Mr. Browning serves on the board and audit committee of Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc., a publicly traded financial holding company.  He also serves on the board of Rignet Inc., a communications company focusing on the upstream oil and gas industry.  He currently is the chair of the audit committee and a member of the nominating and governance committee of Rignet Inc. Mr. Browning is a certified public accountant.
